Noosa Surf Report for January 12, 2026

Conditions

We have a really good day of surf coming up for Noosa on Monday, January 12. A clean easterly swell is running at around one and a half metres and is expected to build throughout the day. This swell direction will favour the Noosa points and provide consistent surf across the entire headland.

Tides will play a key role in shaping conditions. Low tide is at 9:30am, followed by a high tide at 2:45pm. Expect the surf to improve as the tide fills in, particularly through the middle of the day and into the afternoon as the swell continues to build.

Winds are forecast to blow from the southeast, starting at around 10 knots in the morning and increasing to close to 20 knots by the afternoon. With the wind coming from the southeast, the Noosa points will remain well protected, helping to maintain surface quality despite the strengthening breeze later in the day.

Unfortunately, the weather is set to be wet and rainy, but that makes it a perfect excuse to get in the water — there’s not much else to do but go surfing.

Where to Surf

The best places to surf will be all of the Noosa points, from the inside sections right through to the outer points. Wave heights will vary depending on location, with waist-high surf through Nationals down to First Point, building to overhead waves on the outer points. There will be plenty of options to suit different abilities and board choices across the headland.

What Boards to Hire from Foam and Resin

It’s a day where virtually everything in the fleet at Foam and Resin will work. Shortboards, mid-lengths, longboards, and foamies will all be suitable depending on where you choose to surf and your experience level. With a wide range of wave sizes across the points, it’s truly a day for everyone. We’ll be happy to see you coming through the door and getting set up with the right board.
