Today we have a waist- to chest-high southeast swell. It’s a low-period, peaky swell, with waves spread across multiple banks.
High tide is around 8:30am, with a low tide this afternoon at approximately 3:30pm.
Winds are light southwest early, shifting to a light easterly, before strengthening from the northeast later in the day.
Best Conditions & Locations
This morning, the best waves will be between Sunshine Beach and Coolum, with plenty of options spread across the banks on the higher tide. Early is the go while winds stay light and the tide remains full.
As the tide drops after 8:30am and winds start to lift, there will still be rideable waves along the Sunshine to Coolum stretch, though conditions will become more affected by the breeze.
This afternoon, with a stronger northeasterly and the tide running low, the pick of the waves will be north of the Sunshine Beach Surf Club, extending up to the north end. That zone should offer the most workable conditions later in the day.
Board Recommendation
With the swell on the smaller side, extra volume is key.
